Flower and plant enthusiasts from many counties surrounding Okarche are drawn each year to the Kristy Wittrock Memorial Horticulture Center. The expansive greenhouse is specially designed for people in wheelchairs. Raised flower beds allow for the cultivation of vocational skills through this unique, hands-on training tool.

Horticultural therapy uses plants and plant-related activities as treatment for persons with mental or physical disabilities, or for rehabilitation training for individuals with developmental disabilities to qualify them for transitional employment.

CFL residents working at the greenhouse attain a new skill, improve their vocabulary, increase powers of observation and concentration, and learn to interact in a professional manner within and outside of a group setting. Horticultural Therapy improves confidence, self-esteem, and gives CFL residents another avenue for creative independence.
Customers are invited to come by to visit and shop, especially during the spring and fall plant bedding season, and of course the spectacular holiday poinsettia season.
The CFL Greenhouse provides tours of the Kristy Wittrock Memorial Horticulture Center to garden clubs, children and any interested groups.
